What we have accomplished to date

Since the Homeless Prevention Program commenced on August 2, 2004, MetroWest Outreach Connection has raised approximately $170,000. We have received funds from 18 grants, donations and our Walk to Prevent Homelessness.
During the past year, we have provided financial assistance to 132 households which include 300 people. The average assistance has been $617, with a range of $111 to $1,825.
While 61% of our clients live in Framingham, the other 39% reside in Natick, Holliston, Ashland, Milford, Acton, Lincoln, Wellesley, Brockton, Worcester, Marlboro, Maynard, Medfield, Wayland, Needham, Dedham, Millis, Hudson, Stow and Franklin.
The racial breakdown of our clients is reflective of the population in the area: White 56%, Hispanic 28%, Black 16%.
Ninety-eight (98) percent of all funds raised are spent to help these low income households.
We checked the housing status of clients on September 15, 2005. At that time, we had provided funding for 119 clients. Our data collected indicates that 114 of 119 clients (95.8%) are still housed. On that date, 39 of 43 clients (90.7%) assisted at least six months ago are still permanently housed. So far, our check of housing status in January 2006 indicates that those percentages will either be matched or exceeded.
